Dr Sadiah Abdullah

Born in 1953 in Johor Baru, she has been involved in art since she was 14 years old. During her school days she has won a few painting competitions, both at state and national levels. In 1967, she won a poster competition called "10 tahun Merdeka (10 years of  Independence) and a few logo design competitions at state level.

Her ambition to continue pursuing an art education was stalled because she was in the Science stream. She completed and received a medical degree at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 1979, followed by a Masters Degree in Medicine and Health in 1997.

In 1983, while in Australia, she took an art course in one of the technical colleges in Fremantle W.A. and in 1984, was chosen to join a group exhibition in Perth, W.A.

A sense of connection with her surrounding environment and travels both locally and abroad as given her lots of ideas to paint landscapes, portraits and "still life" using oils, acrylic paints, watercolour and pastel.

In 2013, she joined a group exhibition at Galeria Senada, Publika, Kuala Lumpur.

In 2015, she participated in an art exhibition "ASEAN Open Show" in Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, Tanjung Malim, Perak.

Year 2015 also saw her participating in a programme organised by National Visual Art Gallery  for MCAT and carried out by the art group, "Angkatan Pelukis SeMalaysia". This was called "Lukis Lakar Langkawi".
